Most contractors show you a finished room. A finished room tells you someone owns a camera. It says nothing about whether the studwork behind that wall is straight, whether the substrate under those tiles was prepared properly, or whether anyone turned up on the days they said they would.

So each project here opens as a sequence instead: the space as we found it, the strip-out, the first fix, the boarding and the skim, then the finish. Open any one of them and you can scroll the job from empty shell to handover. The parts that get covered up are the parts that decide how long the work lasts, so those are the parts worth showing.

The work on this page runs across both: shop and salon fit-outs, where an empty unit has to become a trading business by a fixed date, and interior work in homes across Nottingham and the East Midlands. Kitchens and bathrooms, floor and wall tiling, timber stud partitions, plasterboard and skim, panelling and feature walls, and full decoration.

The trades are in-house rather than subcontracted out, which is why the stages run into each other without a wait between them, and why there is one person to ring rather than four. Every job starts with a free site visit and a fixed price in writing, and the workmanship carries a 12-month guarantee.
